Do you hate to have to wait? Sometimes it's only 15 minutes but without anything to do it seems like forever! Next time you have to wait for your turn on the computer or to be picked up at day care, try one of these:

  • Think about what you would do with MAGIC SNEAKERS.
  • Draw eyes and a nose on a sock to make a puppet. Plan a show.
  • Make a place mat by cutting fringe around the edges of a standard piece of construction paper.
  • Close your eyes and scribble all over a piece of paper. Open your eyes and look for hidden pictures in the scribbles. Color in the pictures you find.
  • Draw with markers, dribble water over finished picture for rain effect.
  • Work a 100 piece jig saw puzzle.
  • Read for fun. See how many pages you read in 15 minutes.
  • Sweep a floor
  • Wash a window
  • Organize under the counter
  • Kick a ball and chase it ten times. Save this one for outside waiting.
  • Play a game of Give Away Checkers, the person who loses all checkers first WINS!
  • Make up a poem about waiting for your turn
  • Go to the bathroom, get a drink and comb your hair
  • List all your favorite holidays
  • Make up a list for a scavenger hunt
  • Try a crossword puzzle
  • Look for something lucky
  • See how many small words you can make from a long word. Try: vocabulary, imagination or magnification
  • See how many times you can bounce a ball in 15 minutes
  • Try to name all the stores in the mall or a shopping center
  • Make a list of what you would pack for a trip to Hawaii
  • Listen to a story tape or record
  • Balance a bean bag, a book and then a pillow on your head. Count the number of steps you can take with each one
  • Make up a secret code to share with your friends
  • Day Dream
